SRA Community Projects
“When we begin to believe that there is greater joy in working with and for others, rather than just for ourselves, then our society will truly become a place of celebration.” Jean Vanier
At Successful Resumes, we believe in supporting our local community through direct involvement and joint efforts made with non-profit associations and community groups. Listed here are some of the institutions we are currently supporting through provision of our knowledge and services as well as financial donations.
Odyssey House Victoria is a specialist drug and alcohol agency that provides opportunities for positive change and personal growth by reducing the use of drugs and alcohol, resulting in reconnecting people with their families and the greater community. They provide:
- Case management
- Residential rehabilitation
- Supported accommodation
- Personal support programs
- Community development programs
- Youth outreach and family counselling
- School based early education and prevention programs
- Training as an official Registered Training Organisation (RTO)
- Research and evaluation (The Odyssey Institute of Studies)
The Employment and Vocational Program provides skills to people who have been treated for substance abuse as they prepare to re-establish themselves in the community.
Recognising that a drug-free life is much more sustainable, long term, when a person is gainfully employed, the Employment and Vocational Program best readies clients by offering career counselling, job search preparation, individual marketing assistance, and independent living skills including financial management.
Successful Resumes assists the Employment and Vocational Program at Odyssey House Victoria in developing employment strategies for clients who are preparing to (re)enter the workforce and helps to guide these job seekers in their quest for gainful employment.
